Dr. William YS Chan

A Certified Banker in HK of the HKIB, Fellow member of CIB(UK), HKSI, AIA(UK), IPA(Aust), and HKAFA; Dr. Chan has over 30 years of financial services experience in commercial lending, insurance, securities & financial training. William had been a Banking Training Consultant with the VTC Banking Training Centre/VTC Financial Services Development Centre where he ran successfully a 35-hour ‘Credit Operations’ for bank examiners of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (1996); was invited to brief the Trade and Industry Bureau of the HKSAR Government on ‘Banking Industry – Its main Operations, Present Situation, Problems and Prospects’(1998); was invited by the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) to develop a 175-hour course ‘Commercial Bank Lending’ sponsored by the World Bank and delivered in Tianjian, PRC (1997); Dr. William was also invited to contribute to the working committee of the first ‘Lending Cases in Hong Kong’ which was published by the HKIB in 1995.

William currently is a SFC licensee Business Development Director of a licensed corporation, holding HKSI’s practicing certificates in (i) Securities, (ii) Corporate Finance and (iii) Asset Management; also an adjunct faculty of the Alliance Manchester Business School GMBA programme as well as a visiting lecturer of the modules ‘Financial Risk Management’ and ‘Financial Planning Management’ of the Postgraduate Diploma in Insurance in Risk Management (PgDIRM) programme (accredited at HKQF level 6) of the VTC Institute of Professional Education and Knowledge (VTC PEAK). On part time basis he also trains Licensing Examination for Securities & Futures Intermediaries with a local financial institute; recently becomes an invited Advisory Council member of the renowned Harvard Business Review (HBR)
