Joined by Mr. Albert Law, FCMA, CGMA Managing Director of Universe Business Consulting Limited, President of the Institute of Accountants in Management, former President of CIMA Hong Kong Division.
Mr. Law was Group CFO of two local listed conglomerates, the Wang On Group and South China Group. At listed company board level, he was an Executive Director of South China Holding Limited and South China Assets Holdings Limited. Mr. Law was also an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Audit Committee of Guangzhou Automobile Group Company Limited and former Treasurer of The then Royal HK Jockey Club the panelists will discuss the challenges enterprises face, share their perspectives on how a Finance organization could be structured in the digital era, and what CFO or Business leaders should cultivate within the organization to develop a qualified management accountant team to bring more value to the table.

Jasper Chung, ACMA, CGMA, Head of Corporate Development, Asia Pacific, The New York Times Company (2018 – Present), Immediate Past Chair of CIMA HKSAR Area Committee, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (2022/2023)

Jasper is currently the Head of Corporate Development, Asia Pacific, at The New York Times Company, leading various business strategic projects across APAC with a dual role in managing digital subscription growth in APAC markets. From Dec 2019 to Dec 2022, he was the Board Member and Honorary Treasurer of The Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA), an NGO based in Hong Kong representing international, regional, and local media companies across Asia.

Jasper was the Immediate Past Chair of CIMA Hong Kong and a Member of the North Asia Regional Engagement Group of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA-CIMA) during 2022/2023. He has over 18 years of management accounting and leadership experience in multinational companies including General Electric, a global technology conglomerate; Richemont, the world’s leading luxury group.

He completed the CIMA study through the Finance Management Program at GE Healthcare in London prior to returning to Hong Kong in 2010. Subsequently, he joined CIMA Hong Kong branch as a Committee Member to promote the professional qualification and actively advocate the best practices of management accounting and FP&A in industries.

Jasper has over 10 years of lecturing experience for CIMA, HKICPA, Kaplan, educating and mentoring a new generation of professional accountants. In recent years he has been a lecturer of Management Accounting of University of London degree program at HKU SPACE.

He graduated from HKUST with a BBA degree double-major in Finance & Marketing, and The University of Birmingham with an MSc in Accounting & Finance. In 2015, Jasper was awarded “The Most Promising Finance Talent” in the CGMA CFO Forum. He is also a CPA (Aus.)
