About the Seminar: Profession Conduct Complaints This part will help attendees to understand the complaint process. It will cover "What happens when a member receives a complaint" ; "What to do when a member receives a complaint " and "Discover how to avoid complaints"
How shall we prepare for the upcoming HKFRS 16 – Lease before Jan 1, 2019? This part will cover key contents of Reporting Standard including its scope, impact, definition of lease, identifying a lease contract, recognition exemptions, and accounting for lessor & lessee. There will be discussion on practical issues such as discount rate and transition arrangement.
About the Speakers: Mr Johnson Kong, Managing Director - Non Assurance, BDO Hong Kong Johnson Kong has over 30 years of professional accounting experience. He specialises in financial investigation, due diligence, forensic and litigation support, restructuring, receivership and insolvency related assignments. Johnson holds a number of professional and public appointments. He is an elected Vice President and Council Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA). In addition, he is the Chairman of Qualifications Oversight Board, Professional Conduct Committee and Small and Medium Practitioners Committee, a member of Ethics Committee and Nomination Committee. He is also a Past Chairman of the Restructuring & Insolvency Faculty of HKICPA, Past President of the Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians and an Ex-Executive Board Member of INSOL. Johnson is also a member of the Securities and Futures Appeals Tribunal of FSTB and IFAC’s Small and Medium Practices Committee. Johnson is a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Practising), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors. He is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, a Registered Insolvency Practitioner under the Hong Kong Official Receiver’s Panel and holder of the Specialist Designation in Insolvency awarded by HKICPA.
Mr Kim Man Wong, Chief Financial Officer, HK Electric Investments Kim Man WONG is currently the Chief Financial Officer of HK Electric Investments. He has over 30 years of experience in financial management and accounting in Hong Kong and other countries. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration. He is also a member of HKICPA. He has actively involved in accounting education and profession development all these years. He is currently the Chairman of Accountancy Advisory Board of Lingnan University and the Chairman of Professional Development Committee of HKICPA. He is also a member of the Financial Reporting Review Panel of Financial Reporting Council.
About the Facilitator: Mr Webster Ng, Director, ADF Being the proprietor and founder of Webster Ng & Co., Mr. Ng is a fellow Certified Public Accountant (Practising). He is currently the Vice-President of the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK) and President of Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians Limited (HKIAAT), as well as the Council Member of The Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors (SCAA) and Director of Accounting Development Foundation (ADF). Mr. Ng is member of Taxation Policy Committee of TIHK and has been awarded as Honorary Council member of the China Certified Tax Agents Association (CCTAA). Mr. Ng served in various accountancy sectors including committee member of Examinations and Accreditation Committee of HKIAAT, CPA Qualifying Process Reform Working Group, Accountancy Manpower Research Advisory Panel, Small and Medium Practitioners Committee and Practice Review Committee of HKICPA, as well as SME committee member of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). In addition, Mr. Ng also served as member of Lotteries Fund Advisory Committee. Mr. Ng holds the fellow member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK). He is also the ordinary member of The Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors (SCAA) and The Association of Hong Kong Professionals. In addition, Mr. Ng is the Founding member of Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association (HKPASEA).
CPD Hours: Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended a full session of seminar. For those who have not attended full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted accordingly. For the exact recognition of the CPD hours, please check with the respective Institute or Association.
