About the Seminar: Hong Kong has received criticism on its transparency and position as a major international financial centre. The authorities continue to action on suspected money laundering with the development of new laws and guidelines and increased enforcement activities. You should be aware that the anti-money laundering provisions apply to all types of businesses. In the seminar we will discuss: - How to avoid getting into money laundering activities? - Recent developments in money laundering and terrorist financing - Offences and obligations under various AML provisions - Red flags - What to do?
About the Speaker: Mr Louis CHOW is the Chairman of Accounting Development Foundation. He is the Head of a Chinese securities firm's Risk and Compliance Department. He is a qualified accountant by profession and has more than twenty-five years' securities regulatory compliance experience having worked at the Compliance Division of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Futures Commission, and the Legal and Compliance Department of various Chinese and international securities firms. Mr Chow is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a Member of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, and a Member of the American Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He is a testified securities expert witness. Once a Member of the SFC's Products Advisory Committee and Investor Education Advisory Committee, Mr Chow is currently a Panel Member of the Resolvability Review Tribunal and a Financial Reporting Review Panel Member of the Financial Reporting Council.
CPD Hours: Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended a full session of seminar. For those who have not attended full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted accordingly. For the exact recognition of the CPD hours, please check with the respective Institute or Association.
