About the Seminar: HKFRS 15, Revenue from contracts with customers and HKFRS 16, Leases, will become effective in financial years beginning on or after 1 January 2018 and 2019, respectively. Given the widespread applicability and complexity of the new standards, assessment of their possible impacts is one of the focus areas of corporates. In this seminar, the speaker will cover the major changes brought about by these standards, with illustrative examples, to help companies and practitioners get ready for the new standards. The speaker will also illustrate the wider impacts of these standards beyond accounting.
About the Speaker: Roy is experienced in providing assurance and capital markets related advisory services, and is proficient in PRC GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP. He has been involved in HK and US IPO projects, providing advisory services to companies in the process of their IPOs. Starting from 2012, Roy has been regularly contributing opinion pieces on capital market related topics in KPMG’s quarterly capital markets journals. He obtained the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants qualification in 2015. Roy currently serves as a member of the Professional Conduct Committee and the Corporate Governance Working Group of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the Asia and Africa Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.
