Highlights

HKFRS 16 became effective for accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2019. The standard has significant impacts on the accounting for leases across different industries, and its implementation requires new information and judgements. The standard may also have impact on different aspects of a business beyond accounting. In this seminar, Roy will discuss the implementation issues of HKFRS 16 with illustrative examples, and illustrate its potential impact on business. In addition, Alec and Kim Man, with their extensive experience as Professional Accountants in Business (PAIBs), will share their business perspectives on the key issues and challenges in implementing the new standard and practical insights on how to handle such issues in a panel discussion.
