ADF 10th Anniversary Conference ─ Afternoon Session 1 : Practical Issues and Problems Faced by Accountants

About the Seminar:

Nowadays, CPAs face all kind of challenges ranging from compliance with new rules and regulations such as AML, accounting standards, AEoI, to the Institute’s practice review for the practising CPA firms. At the same time, some CPAs experienced staff recruitment, retention and training problems. High staff turnover rate and unfavourable fee competition turn out to become the major hindrance to the continuous growth of the accounting profession.

To maintain work life balance of CPAs, our speakers would like to explore the challenges and opportunities in new accounting landscape and share their insights on how to work with the big accounting revolution.

About Speakers:

Edwin YEUNG, Vice Chairman, ADF:

Being founder of Edwin Yeung & Co. (Cpa) Limited, Mr. Yeung is a fellow Certified Public Accountant (Practising). He is currently the Vice-Chairman of the Accountant Development Foundation (ADF) and Past President of Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors (SCAA), as well as the Chairman of the HKICPA’s Sports & Recreation Committee.

Webster NG, Director, ADF:

Being the proprietor and founder of Webster Ng & Co., Mr. Ng is a fellow Certified Public Accountant (Practising). He is currently the Vice-President of the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK) and President of Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians Limited (HKIAAT), as well as the Council Member of The Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors (SCAA) and Director of Accounting Development Foundation (ADF). Mr. Ng is member of Taxation Policy Committee of TIHK and has been awarded as Honorary Council member of the China Certified Tax Agents Association (CCTAA).

Parco WU, Council member, The Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors:

Mr. Wu Chun Sing (鄔晉昇先生) (Parco), obtained a degree of Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Accountancy from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in November 2004. He started his career at Ernst & Young in September 2004 and his last position was an audit senior manager in August 2015. Parco has been a practising member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“HKICPA”) since May 2016 and is now the sole proprietor and founder of a firm of certified public accountants in Hong Kong, PW CPA & Co.

About the Chairlady:

Prof. Cho is a reputable accounting scholar. She earned her PhD from the University of Hong Kong. She taught at Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) for many years and has gained substantial experience in teaching, research, and university administration. Prof. Cho is a Certified Public Accountant, a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Security Institute, a member of the Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors, and Hong Kong Business Accountants Association, as well as an honorary member of Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians. She specializes in Taxation, Accounting and Corporate Governance, She published books and research papers widely in internationally referred journals. She was a member of the editorial board of the Asia Pacific Journal of Taxation.


CPD Hours:

Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended a full session of seminar. For those who have not attended full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted accordingly.

For the exact recognition of the CPD hours, please check with the respective Institute or Association.
