About the Seminar:

With effective from 1 March 2018, the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (Financial Institutions) (Amendment) Ordinance 2018 extends the scope of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (Financial Institutions) Ordinance (Cap. 615) to cover "designated non-financial businesses and professions” (“DNFBPs”) including accountants.

The Ordinance and relevant guidelines aim to develop accountants’ awareness of money laundering and terrorism financing by introducing compliance programmes.

In this seminar, Emily will discuss development of AML/CFT regime, particularly focusing on the principle of Client Due Diligence and Suspicious Transaction Reporting. The speech will be illustrated with examples and potential impact on business.

About the Speakers:

Ms. Ho has over 14 years of experience in providing auditing and compliance services to local, regional, multi-national and listed companies under banking and commercial industries. She was amply engaged in various control-related roles including Transaction Monitoring, Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance, Internal Auditing in Hong Kong's three note-issuing banks.

Ms. Ho served as a guest speaker in forums and radio programmes for Accountancy Body; columnist of online publication.

Ms. Ho was designated as Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA), Chartered Accountant (ACA) at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). She was also an associate member of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

CPD Hours:

Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended a full session of seminar. For those who have not attended full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted accordingly.
