About the Seminar:

Thanks to the advancement in data transmission, storage, computing speed and robotics etc, the world has entered the era of new economies. AI, big data, blockchain etc become buzzwords and the companies in these areas are sought after by investors such as venture capitals, private equities, family offices, professional investors and even the general public.

In light of this, the HKEx has reformed and broaden the Hong Kong’s listing regime by adding three new chapters in the Main Board Listing Rules to allow and facilitate the listing of such new economy companies. However, valuations of these companies are always challenging and require in-depth research & analysis and resources.

In this seminar, the characteristics and the listing requirements of new economy companies will be discussed. Some core technologies such as AI and blockchain and the business models will also be briefly studied. Furthermore, the speaker will illustrate how to perform valuations on new economy economies for investments and financial reporting purposes.
