About the Seminar:

“Private Equity” consists of investors and funds that make investments directly into private companies or conduct buyouts of public companies that result in a delisting of public equity. (Source: Investopedia). What does this “Private Equity” definition means to an accountant?

This seminar will start with an overview on Private Equity as an “alternative investment”. The guest speaker will highlight the common Private Equity fund strategies and how Private Equity could help at different stages of company growth. The participants could get a flavour of the 2 most important investment evaluation criteria for private equity managers, being, (a) business model and (b) business operators. The accountant participants could also understand how they could bring value to the process.

On business operators, the guest speaker will further highlight the “peculiarities of entrepreneurs” from the eyes of a private equity manager. Knowing these expected peculiarities, this seminar will be particular useful to participants who are

- currently working with private equity managers & exploring co-investment opportunities,

- planning to devise fund raising exercise to invite private equity managers to invest into your business, or

- handling existing private equity investors in your company.

This seminar could be interesting for accountants who would like to pursue career in Private Equity sector.

About the Speaker:

Mr Vincent CHANG specialized in private equity funds management and started his private equity career by working with Citi Private Equity/CVC Asia Pacific for 7 years as Associate Finance Director and China Investment Manager. During his Citi tenure, Vincent established two joint venture private equity funds.

In 2013, Vincent left JPMorgan Asset Management Global Real Assets where he worked for 6 years as Executive Director. During Vincent’s JPMorgan tenure, on top of his deal execution, pre-acquisition due diligence and post-investment integration role for the portfolio companies, Vincent also focused at US regulatory compliance, corporate governance, investor relations management. Vincent also spearheaded the post-investment integration process to create value for the Investee companies.

Currently, Vincent is a director of the Hong Kong Private Equity Finance Association. He also advise private equity and real estate funds sponsors on establishment, operations, M&A, deal execution, exit mechanism and post-investment integration.

CPD Hours:

Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended a full session of seminar. For those who have not attended full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted accordingly. For the exact recognition of the CPD hours, please check with the respective Institute or Association.
