How corporate insolvency and restructuring are relevant to professional accountants in business?

About the Seminar:

Over the last 12 months, the market has seen significant restructuring or insolvency cases in Hong Kong. Companies have included media, retail and fitness centers. This has aroused the interest and concern of the general public, especially stakeholders who were involved in these cases, regarding the corporate insolvency and restructuring procedures in Hong Kong.

In this seminar, Mr Daniel CHOW will share with the professional accountants in business (PAIBs) the present framework of corporate insolvency and restructuring in Hong Kong and the relevant procedures and options which are available to the PAIBs when they are dealing with counterparts, suppliers or investment partners who are facing distressed situations.

Daniel will cover the following areas:

- Brief overview of the present framework and summary of relevant procedures for corporate insolvency in Hong Kong.

- Brief overview of the present corporate restructuring framework in Hong Kong.

- Recent case studies on the restructuring and insolvency cases in Hong Kong.

About the Speaker:

Mr Daniel CHOW is a Senior Managing Director in the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment of FTI Consulting. He has more than 22 years of financial reporting, corporate restructuring and recovery experience including liquidations, receiverships, financial reviews and personal insolvencies.

Daniel is experienced in taking on appointments, including Court-appointed receivership, arising from family and shareholders’ disputes and is able to provide independent advice and pragmatic solutions to resolve situations and disputes. He has handled numerous liquidation and receivership appointments in Hong Kong, the British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and Samoa, and has conducted corporate workout, restructuring, operational turnaround and due diligence assignments in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Singapore.


CPD Hours:

Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended a full session of seminar. For those who have not attended full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted accordingly. For the exact recognition of the CPD hours, please check with the respective Institute or Association.
