About the Seminar:

Continuous change of financial reporting standards is often named as one of the key challenges to CPAs. Besides, those changes would also have significant tax implication. To better equip you to this challenge, the speakers would share with you the new HK Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS), including HKFRS 9 Financial Instruments, HKFRS 15 Revenue from Contracts with Customers and HKFRS 16 Leases, and the potential tax implication of those new HKFRS in this seminar.

About the Speakers:

Mr Fergus WONG, Director, National Tax Policy Services, PwC Hong Kong

As a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the CPA Australia, Mr WONG has many years of experience in Hong Kong taxation gained through working in the Inland Revenue Department, teaching taxation in local tertiary institutions and providing training and in-house technical advice within professional firms. He has also been involved with various professional bodies in their examinations in Hong Kong taxation. He is the immediate past chairman of the ACCA HK Branch. Currently he is Tax Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Member of the ACCA Council.

Mr Nelson LAM, Chairman, Accounting Development Foundation (ADF)

Mr LAM, Chairman of Accounting Development Foundation, is a practicing accountant and is enthusiastic in serving the profession and the community. He often speaks and advises on IFRS, HKFRS and related issues. He is also the Council Member of the HKICPA and The Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors, and Non-Executive Director of Urban Renewal Authority. He is also a columnist in local media on financial statement analysis of listed entities, and one of the co-authors of several university and professional textbooks with several renowned U.S. and Hong Kong professors in Hong Kong and Singapore.

CPD Hours:

Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended a full session of seminar. For those who have not attended full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted accordingly. For the exact recognition of the CPD hours, please check with the respective Institute or Association.
