Elementary Concept on Expatriates’ Tax Issues in China

About the Seminar:

Hong Kong employees who are either working “full time” or “travel regularly on a daily basis” to China is not uncommon nowadays. But how many of them are familiarized with the basic Hong Kong/China tax law and regulations so as to avoid themselves as well as their employers away from the non-compliance tax situation? This seminar aims to provide a basic knowledge to the employees who are currently working full time or traveling to and from China on a daily basis with respect to their potential tax issues in China.

Topics will be explored includes:-

- What are the basic tax requirements for expatriates working in China?

- What is “Permanent Establishment”?

- What are those common misunderstandings or loopholes?

About the Speaker:

Brian has many years of tax experience in providing China and Hong Kong individual tax compliance and advisory services. Over the years, in particular, he has developed extensive experience in handling cross-border individual tax issues between Hong Kong and China. He is also familiarized with the local practice of the PRC local tax authorities in different regions of China.

Brian maintains good relationships with various tax officers in China and provides technical and practical solutions as well as performing expatriate tax compliance works for various overseas multinational corporations, Fortune 500 clients and local companies in Hong Kong.

Brian is a CPA with the CPA Australia and the Hong Kong Institute of CPA. He is also a frequent speaker on tax topics for various government organizations, chambers of commerce and professional bodies, such as, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, CPA Australia, Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management, Hong Kong Management Association, The Association of Hong Kong Accountants, etc.


CPD Hours:

Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended a full session of seminar. For those who have not attended full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted accordingly. For the exact recognition of the CPD hours, please check with the respective Institute or Association.
