About the Seminar:

The new Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Guidelines has been released last December. A company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) must start to disclose its ESG information on an annual basis. The ESG report will be shown on both HKEX's website and the company's website. Apart from industry code, legal requirements as well as current operational practices, what other aspects should be taken into account in ESG Policy formulation? What elements should be included to increase the credibility of ESG report? What social and environmental programmes should the company adopt to enrich the report content? This seminar addresses all these issues and covers the following topics:-

About the Speakers:

Dr William YU, Chief Executive Officer of World Green Organisation (WGO)

Dr YU is an energy economist and climate professional by training and completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge as well as earned an Executive MBA degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in the U.S. Additionally, Dr YU has gained valuable regional management experience by working at US multinationals. He is currently the Adjunct Professor of several universities in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Dr YU has extensive experience in leading both public and business engagement programmes. He writes articles for multiple newspapers on the low carbon economy, low carbon city, social innovation and energy poverty. He was a co-host for an environmental program on numerous TV and Radio Channels.

Ms Stella LAW (MRICS, ASA, HKBVF)

Ms LAW has been providing ESG advisory service to wide range of clients to improve their operating efficiency and access the impact to the client’s core business strategy. She not only assists clients to demonstrate their responsiveness to the environmental and social concerns, but also helps promulgate the awareness of sustainability to corporates. Ms LAW is a frequent speaker for seminars in relation to ESG for professional bodies and academic institutions. She obtains her undergraduate degree in software engineering from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and a master degree in financial analysis with concentration on corporate finance and security analysis from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUKST).

Ms WONG Shek Hung, Hong Kong Programme Manager, Oxfam Hong Kong

Ms WONG joined Oxfam Hong Kong in 2007. She leads on work advocating pro-poor policies for poor people in Hong Kong and better CSR practices amongst business sectors. Before joining the Oxfam, she was a social worker serving disadvantaged groups in Hong Kong. She has been devoted efforts to serve cage people, ethnic minorities and residents facing difficulties of urban renewal for over ten years. In addition, she has been taught on courses of social work in different universities (like Baptist University of Hong Kong and City University of Hong Kong etc.).

CPD Hours:

Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended a full session of seminar. For those who have not attended full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted accordingly. For the exact recognition of the CPD hours, please check with the respective Institute or Association.
