About the Seminar:

Multi-pronged Strategy to Increase Land Supply

To meet the housing and social needs of the people of Hong Kong, the HKSAR Government has adopted a multi-pronged strategy to increase land supply in the short, medium and long term, through a series of measures, including the optimal use of developed land and creating new developable land. In particular, the Government will endeavour to make available sufficient supply of housing land in the short to medium term, so as to achieve the new housing supply target of providing 470 000 housing units in ten years as announced in the 2014 Policy Address. At the same time, we are striving to take forward as quickly as possible a series of long-term land supply projects including the New Development Areas, reclamations outside Victoria Harbour, development of Lantau, and underground space developments, etc. These long-term projects will be our foci in meeting Hong Kong’s population growth, providing land resources for economic and social developments, as well as improving people’s living space and environment.

Hong Kong’s Golden 5 Years (2010-2014) and The Decline May Follow...?

The future of Hong Kong is simply a binary choice, a choice between overtaking London and New York, and falling into the darkness. All of you could make this choice tonight through our insight on population, labour force and the economy.

About the Speakers:
