About the seminar:

Organizations might not have paid adequate attention to data governance. During the past few years, alarming data leakage incidents have raised public concern of the need to have the company and personal data properly protected. Each of the data breach incident could cost the organization significant amount of financial loss and irreparable reputational damage. Besides, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) practices and cloud computing have also brought new challenges and risks to the organizations. It is indeed more than a technology issue; it is a complex business and management issue. In this seminar, our IT security specialists will go through with you the sources of risks and threats relating to mobile security and what management of the organizations can do in mitigating such risks.

About the speakers:

Ester has more than 15 years of experience in providing various kinds of services to clients in Hong Kong, China and overseas, including IT auditing, IT consulting, workflow re-engineering, internal audit, pre-IPO internal control review, financial due diligence services, financial statements audit and tax compliance.

In recent years, Ester is providing IT auditing and consulting services to the clients in Hong Kong, the United States and in the mainland China covering manufacturing, retail businesses, education, banking and financial services industries, etc. Details of services include coordinating and completing information systems general and application controls SSAE 16 (previously SAS70) examinations, Information Systems General Control Reviews and other specialized reviews; assisting organizations with the implementation and testing of Information Systems in support of Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements; performing Information Systems reviews of data centers, focusing on application controls and general control areas; experience reviewing network and operating system’s security such as IBM AS/400, UNIX, Microsoft Windows and others; assisting in creation of IT audit methodologies and work programs for both internal and external audits.

Den is an ex-Chief Superintendent of Police with over 36 years of Police service. He possesses a wide range of knowledge and experience in risk management, command, field operations and crisis handling. He masters meticulous operational planning and excellent risk management abilities. Serving as a commander in a number of Police divisions and districts, Den was well known for his ability to appreciate potential security risks and for his initiative to take effective measures to prevent such risks from happening.

Den headed the Police technical division between 2006 and 2010. He led technical specialists and engineers to provide technical support and solutions to the sophisticated security and surveillance operations. Such services included the sweeping for bugging devices (i.e. technical surveillance countermeasures, TSCM) for foreign heads of state visiting Hong Kong as well as for top local government officials. During the same period, Den also took up the responsibilities to oversee the Police Force’s implementation of the newly enacted Interception of Communications and Surveillance Ordinance. Den’s knowledge, expertise and experience in TSCM and all other security operations are unmatched in Hong Kong.

In his spare time, Den fully commits himself to charity work, serving long time as the Director and Executive Chairman of the Friends of Hope Education Fund, which has contributed to over 100 education projects locally and in the Mainland, including the construction of over 70 schools.

Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended a full session of seminar. For those who have not attended full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted accordingly. For the exact recognition of the CPD hours, please check with the respective Institute or Association.
