About the seminar:

The seminar aims to introduce some basic concepts in Insolvency Law and Company restructuring relevant to the work of a director or manager. Topics that would be covered include:-

- how to avoid incurring personal liabilities when the company is wound-up

- duties upon winding-up of the company

- restructuring and rescue options

What managers/directors should be aware of when their customer is experiencing financing difficulties:-

- how to protect your company against customers' insolvency

- how to recover payment without being challenged when the customer is eventually wound-up

- how to recover assets from wound-up companies

- how to pursue personal liabilities of directors/managers of wound-up companies

Method of Restructuring is available for company experiencing financing difficulties.

About the speakers:

Mr. Albert Law, is the Group Chief Financial Officer of South China Group. Before taking up the current role, he held various senior financial and management positions in different industries with focus in corporate finance, investment, company restructuring, rescue, merger and acquisition. In his last position as Financial Controller of K. Wah Construction Materials Limited a position which he held for nine years, he has participated in over 20 new China investment projects, Corporate Finance, Y2K compliance administration, financial re-engineering, change management exercise, and in a number of corporate exercises including the HK$18.4Bn landmark acquisition of Galaxy Casino S.A. Mr. Law is currently the President of the Institute of Accountants in Management and the Past President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants Hong Kong Division.

Mr. Ludwig Ng was trained and worked as a commercial and banking lawyer in leading law firms in the earlier years of his practice. Later he developed his litigation and advocacy skills whilst working as a barrister. In 1995, he became a founding partner of ONC Lawyers. Ludwig’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, especially those involving companies and shareholder disputes. He frequently advises and represents insolvency practitioners in their capacity as liquidators, receivers and administrators. Ludwig is lecturer and tutor for insolvency courses organised by the Restructuring and Insolvency Faculty of the HKICPA and also a frequent speaker for training seminars for lawyers and commercial organisations.


1) Those interested are requested to register on-line by filling in the attached enrolment form. Acceptance will be on a first-come-first-served basis.

2) Successful enrolments will be confirmed by email. Unsuccessful applicants will be automatically placed on waiting list; they will be called up in the order of time of receipt of registration when vacancies arise.

3) Applicants may check their registration status using the same membership number of their professional affiliation when they register.


1) After receiving our Confirmation, you can either pay cash or cheque for admission at location.

2) If pay by cash, please present the Confirmation with your cash payment when you attend the seminar.

3) If pay by cheque, please make cheque payable to Accounting Development Foundation Limited. Write down your name and Enrolment ID number on the back of the cheque and submit it with the Confirmation when you attend the seminar.

Seat Accommodation:

Please note that seats accommodation for accepted participants will be reserved until 15 minutes after the seminar starts. Seats may not be available for participants who are late for over 15 minutes.

CPD Hours:

For those participants who have not attended the full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted according to the actual time of attendance. Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended the full session. For the exact recognition of the CPD hours, please check with the respective Institute or Association.
