About the seminar:

This seminar is intended for qualified accountants who have five to ten years of experience in accounting. This seminar focuses on the career development choices and decisions faced by most CPAs after gaining their qualifications. As the speakers are experienced professional recruiters, they will also share their observations gained through working experience with a large pool of CPAs during their career changes and job recruitment processes.

About the speakers:

Elaine Lam is Division Director of the Financial Services team at Robert Half, responsible for permanent recruitment of candidates in control functions, which include risk, compliance, audit, accounting and product control. Elaine joined Robert Half in 2008, bringing with her a wealth of experience in the fields of financial services as well as recruitment consulting. Prior to that, Elaine was one of the top-ranked recruiters at another leading recruitment firm in Hong Kong. Prior to recruitment consulting, she had worked at Citicorp and PCCW. In 2010, Elaine was ranked as Robert Half’s #1 top recruiter globally for placing over 400 candidates within Financial Services and for her dedication to excellence.

Joanne Ng is Division Director of the Consulting Division Management Resources at Robert Half, responsible for placements of senior finance and accounting and project professionals on an interim basis. Joanne focuses on middle to senior level positions in project management, accounting and finance, and business systems. She had worked at PWC before joining Robert Half in 2009. Joanne has established an impressive reputation amongst her clients for her ability to collaborate on project life cycles and assist her candidates on identifying the right roles to their skill sets. Joanne has successfully placed nearly 300 consultants into multi-national clients earning her the title of top biller in her division.

Jenny Wong is Division Director of the Finance and Accounting team for the Commerce Industry at Robert Half, responsible for permanent recruitment of senior level finance professionals. She also manages a team responsible for placing CA/CPA/ACCA qualified professionals and operational accounting staff. Since joining Robert Half from another recruitment firm, Jenny has placed more than 300 accountants into permanent positions in Hong Kong. She is known for her in-depth knowledge of her clients’ industry sector and her ability to chart career advancements from her candidates’ point of view, inspiring complete trust, confidence and long term relationships with clients and candidates alike. Questions to Speakers:

This seminar consists of two parts. During the first part, the speakers will speak about their experience with regard to their specialist areas. The second part would be a discussion forum facilitated by Mr. Lam Chi Yuen Nelson. Participants are welcome to send your questions for discussion by sending email to on or before 21 June 2012.

Seat Accommodation:

Please note that seats accommodation for accepted participants will be reserved until 15 minutes after the seminar starts. Seats may not be available for participants who are late for over 15 minutes.

CPD Hours:

For those participants who have not attended the full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted according to the actual time of attendance. Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended the full session. For the exact recognition of the CPD hours, please check with the respective Institute or Association.
