About the seminar:

With an increasing number of young people being affected with diabetes during their working life, it is increasingly important to have an understanding of how to avoid the risks of diabetes and related problems.

What is ABC?

A for HbA1C

It is the glucose percentage in your blood cell indicating your blood glucose level over the last three months. High blood glucose levels can harm your heart and blood vessels, kidneys, feet, and eyes.

B for Blood pressure

Blood pressure is the force of the blood pushing against the walls of the arteries. When the heart beats, it pumps out blood into the arteries. High blood pressure makes your heart work too hard. It can cause heart attack, stroke and kidney disease.

C for Cholesterol

A kind of fat in the blood that is naturally formed in your body but the wrong amounts of cholesterol in your blood can affect your heart and arteries.

The aim of the seminar is to highlight the importance of blood glucose, blood pressure and lipids in the prevention of long-term cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other non-communicable diseases.
